One of the big milestones for me is 50, not in age, but the number of cruises that I have been on, with number 50 being a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. My love of cruising is like my love of football (round-ball game).
From my first ocean cruise in 1983 around the Pacific Islands and French Polynesian islands of Tahiti and Bora Bora to the the relaxing little paddle steamer, the Murray Princess from the lovely town of Mannum in South Australia up the Murray River. In between with some amazing memories and customers in the many Greek Islands and other European ports with the history of the castles along the Rhine-maine and Danube rivers to the delights of Vietnam and Cambodia visiting floating markets and little villages along the way.
With our office’s high respect in the cruise market in Australia I have been lucky enough to be invited to two naming ceremonies; the little gem, Pacific Princess, with Gabby Hollons in Sydney in 2002 and the giant Anthem of the Seas in Southampton in 2015.
Over the last few years I’ve had four coach trips of Europe visiting places like Pompeii, the Italian countryside, and the magnificent Emerald Isles with the Ring of Kerry and kissing the Blarney Stone.
But my travels aren’t over. I am soon visiting Niagara Falls then venturing north from New York Harbour into Eastern Canada to say that I have completed cruising on both sides of the country.
As I edge closer to my quarter of a century in travel serving the wonderful people of Port Stephens and afar I am enjoying learning the most modern and up to date improvements we have adapted in our office from our young, smart, energetic team coming forward to service you.
